For a long time this has been the term for a fun game that doesn’t take long to play—the perfect game to accompany a foaming glass and a few snacks. Now it’s a game in its own right! Ted Alspach has put together an enjoyable game that requires both dexterity and low cunning. Players have a set of beer mats and take it in turns to pitch these at a target area. The scores visible—inside or touching the target—once all the beer mats have landed are what counts. Tactically, players are looking to obscure their opponents’ scores while preserving their own—especially the useful ‘x2’ beer mat. Great fun and a game that does actually demand some skill.
